telehealth Northcote Medical

Telehealth has been around for a while, during 2020, even more people started using the tools of telehealth to arrange an appointment with their doctor.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is when you have an appointment with your doctor over the phone or via video call.

Instead of visiting us at our practice, you can have an appointment via;

  • Telephone Call
  • Video Consultation

How does Telehealth work?

Telehealth appointments at Northcote Medical are booked just the same as your usual appointments.

You can call our team and book a telehealth appointment time with your doctor, or you can book an appointment online at a time that suits you best.

You’ll receive an email from us with the information you need to be ready for your booked appointment.

For video calls, you’ll receive a link in your email. You just need to click that link to access your appointment and wait for your doctor.

For a phone call, your doctor will call you at your appointment time.

What if I need a certificate or a prescription?

If your doctor needs to prescribe any medication, or you need a script to take to your chemist, we can send you an eScript.

Read about how easy eScripts are for you to use.

If you need a referral to a specialist or a certificate, we will send it directly to you via a password-protected email.

What does it cost for a Telehealth appointment?

Telehealth appointments cover the same amount of time with your doctor that you would have if you attended in person.

Telehealth appointments at Northcote Medical are provided at the same cost as an in-person consultation.

To ensure that all our patients can receive timely appointments, if you need to cancel your telehealth booking, we request 24 hours’ notice. If you don’t attend your telehealth appointment and don’t cancel beforehand, there will be a cancellation fee. You can see our fees here.

Who can use Telehealth appointments?

Any of our current patients, who have seen their doctor in the last 12 months are welcome to request a telehealth call with any of our doctors, all you need is a phone, tablet or computer.

If you’re a new patient, you’ll need to see one of our doctors for your first appointment in the clinic and can then use our telehealth services.
